Annual fire hydrant testing starts April 3
The city of Bessemer’s Annual fire hydrant inspection program will start on Monday, April 3, 2017. The program is designed to test all hydrants in the city to determine whether they are operating efficiently. Inspections will be held during the weekdays. Residents who experience a fluctuation in water pressure and cloudy or discolored water during the inspection period are advised to run their cold water tap at the lowest point of their house for several minutes or until it becomes clear.
