Bessemer 5K Run set for April 7 in downtown Bessemer
The city of Bessemer’s Parks and Recreation Department in now taking registration for the Bessemer Best Foot Forward 5K Run. The event will be held on April 7, 2018 in downtown Bessemer, starting at DeBardeleben Park. Registration will start at 7:30 a.m. that morning, with the 5K starting at 9 a.m. A 1-mile Fun Run will start at 9:45 a.m. Register now at www.raceentry.com/race/best-foot-forward/2018/register. This event will raise funds to provide fitness equipment for the physically-challenged. The entry fee for the 5K is $25. There is a $15 entry fee for the 1-mile Run Run. “The Bessemer Recreation Center is committed to helping individuals of all capacities achieve total fitness and also provide recreation and sports enrichment to our community,” said Tammie Readus, Event Manager. “The Best Foot Forward 5k Run proceeds raised will go towards adding equipment to assist our hometown warriors achieve their fitness and mobility goals. With your help we can continue to reach all those that want to be Active, Fit and Healthy.”
