The city of Bessemer will be celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the Bessemer Recreation Center and the public is invited to take part in the celebration.
The celebration will take place on Thursday, October 14, starting at 3 p.m. The event is free to the public and will include food and entertainment. See the flyer for additional information.
The Bessemer Recreation Center, located at 100 14th Street South, opened in September 2016. The Recreation Center is the first in the city’s history at a cost of $15 million. The cost included construction of the Recreation Center and a renovation of Roosevelt Park.
The Recreation Center’s membership has grown steadily over the past five years and now includes a membership of over 10,000.
The Recreation Center has hosted numerous events including programs for seniors and youth, youth and adult sports leagues, the city’s Farmers Market, and cultural celebrations.
