Holiday Schedule and Christmas Events Information
All City of Bessemer Offices will be closed on Monday, Dec. 24, 2018 and Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018 for the Christmas Holiday. This includes the offices of the Bessemer Recreation Center and Bessemer Utilities. City Offices will also close on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 and Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019 for the New Year Holiday. There will be no garbage or trash collection those days. CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE The city of Bessemer will hold its Christmas Open House on Thursday, Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at City Hall, 1700 Third Avenue North. The event is free and open to the public. There will be food and refreshments and holiday songs. Come out and greet the Mayor and City Council members as part of this event. 
CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING The city of Bessemer will hold its annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018 at 5 p.m. at DeBardeleben Park, 1623 Second Avenue North. The event is free and open to the public. There will be a giveaway of prices. In order to qualify for the prizes, participants must have a ticket. Only 200 tickets will be available at the park on a first-come, first-serve basis, beginning at 4 p.m. and lasting until 4:30 p.m. Music will be provided by Mac Taylor of 98.7 Today’s KISS. Refreshments will also be served.
