City sets activities for Breast Cancer, Domestic Violence Awareness
PINK AND PURPLE PARADE SET FOR OCTOBER 17
The city of Bessemer in partnership with the Bessemer Area Chamber of Commerce and the Bessemer Business and Professional Women’s Organization have partnered to bring awareness to Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence during the month of October.
The organizations are asking residents and businesses in Bessemer to help Paint the Town Pink and Purple during the month. The Pink is in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness and the Purple is in Awareness of Domestic Violence Month.
The 7th Annual Pink and Purple Parade and Festivities is scheduled for Monday, October 17 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Debardeleben Park in Historic Downtown Bessemer. The parade will start at 5:15 p.m. The Bessemer Fire Department will also participate in festivities to bring attention to Fire Prevention Week.
