City seeks Citizens Comment on CARES ACT funding

The city of Bessemer’s Economic and Community Development Department will host a virtual public hearing to solicit citizens feedback for its Community Development Block Grant CARES ACT funding, or CDBG-CV. The virtual public hearing will take place at 11.00 a.m. Monday, December 7, 2020. (See below for Zoom virtual meeting info)

The department is interested in obtaining citizens’ input on the use of CDBG-CV funds , which were allocated to the city by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Persons needing special assistance (such as translated materials) or a reasonable accommodation to provide comments, please contact Mr. Abraham Ward, Economic and Community Development Department Principal Housing Specialist, at 205-424-4060 or award@bessemeral.org at least 48 hours prior to the event.

Comments on potential uses of the CDBG –CV funds can be forwarded to Mr. Ward at the email above. Comments will be accepted through 4 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2020.
